We didn’t move to Spain with a perfect plan.
We moved with excitement, doubts, and the idea of starting something new.

Like many people who decide to move abroad, we quickly realized that building a life here involves much more than just moving to another country.

There’s paperwork.
Cultural differences.
Language barriers.
Expectations.
And a lot to figure out along the way.

We’re also building this life as a Dutch and Spanish couple, bringing together two cultures and two different ways of doing things.

That means learning how to navigate not just a new country, but two cultures at the same time.

It has taught us flexibility.
Patience.
Perspective.
